To celebrate the 13th International Chinese Day, CIAQU held an activity themed of "Learning Chinese Culture and reciting classical Poetry" at Al-Quds University and Birzit University from April 19th to 20th. More than 320 students from Chinese classes of the two universities participated.

In Alquds University, Chinese teachers first played a few Chinese songs about spring and asked everyone to describe spring with words. Then, the animation video of the ancient poem "Spring Dawn" was played, which vividly displayed the content of the poem in the way of storytelling, and then teachers began to lead the students to recite it. After practicing several times, students were eager to try to recite independently. Student Adam even recited an entire poem at once! When asked how did it, he said that while imagining the artistic conception of the ancient poem in his mind, he recited it, and he quickly remembered it!

At Birzeit University, Chinese teacher first played  the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which immediately caught the attention of the students. Then, he introduced the origin of the twenty-four solar terms in China. Then, he recited the poems "Spring Dawn" and "Qingming" under the background music, which attracted other students outside the classroom to stop by. To experience the mood in the poem, after the recitation, Chinese teacher and students sang "Qingming" together with the beautiful melody.

This activity not only made students understand the beauty of Chinese poetry, but also made students intuitively feel the profound cultural heritage of China. The students learned Chinese in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, which further enhanced their attention to Chinese learning and their interest in Chinese culture.
