Confucius Institute at Al-Quds University Held Chinese New Year Cultural Experience Event

On January 9, more than 20 teachers and students majored in IT from Al-Quds University as well as the Chinese director and all teachers of the Confucius Institute participated in the first Chinese cultural experience event held by the CIAQU in the new year.

At the beginning, the teachers introduced the Confucius Institute to the students and encouraged them to choose Chinese classes to learn more about Chinese language and culture. After watching the video, the students picked up brush pens and wrote Chinese characters to experience the fun of writing. Next, the teachers explained chopsticks and the culture which contains and organized a lively chopsticks and beans competition. Finally, the teachers came together to show the students traditional Chinese costumes. The students watched with gusto and chose their favorite styles to try on, experiencing the traditional Chinese clothing culture in person.

After the activity, the students and teachers expressed their strong interest in Chinese culture. This activity not only made the students feel the charm of Chinese culture, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and Confucius Institute, but also stimulated their interest in learning Chinese and deeply experienced the profoundness of Chinese culture.
