On November 1st and November 8th, the Confucius Institute at Al Quds University(CIAQU) and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of Jiangxi Normal University jointly organized students from the two universities to hold two cultural exchange communications themed “China-Palestine Youth University Life” and “China-Palestine Food” respectively. More than 100 students from both sides participated.
The activities were carried out based on short videos and PPTs, focusing on the college life of Chinese and Palestinian youth and Chinese and Palestinian cuisine. Students from the two schools gave wonderful speeches and presentations about the dormitory pattern and the eating habits of the two countries with the help of multimedia.
Elias, a student of Al-Quds University, said that he was very honored to learn Chinese language and culture in the university, and he was especially grateful to the Confucius Institute for providing students with valuable learning and exchange opportunities.
As China's economy and exchanges with the world have seen rapid growth, there has also been a sharp increase in the world's demands for Chinese learning. Benefiting from the UK, France, Germany and Spain's experience in promoting their national languages, China began its own exploration through establishing non-profit public institutions which aim to promote Chinese language and culture in foreign countries in 2004: these were given the name the Confucius Institute.
